Mpsc state service preliminary exam syllabus:
Before going to the syllabus let me take you through the paper pattern of MPSC state service preliminary examination.
As you all know that there are 2 papers in MPSC state service prelims exam.
Negative marking in MPSC : For each wrong answer there is a negative marking of one fourth. (if your 4 questions are wrong then 1 mark will be e subtracted from the correct marks)

Now let me take you to the syllabus of MPSC rajyaseva prelims exam.
The detailed syllabus for MPSC Prelims is given below:
Paper I (200 marks)
- Current events of state, national and international importance.
- History of India (with special reference to Maharashtra) and Indian National Movement.
- Maharashtra, India and world geography – Physical, Social, Economic geography of Maharashtra, India and the World.
- Maharashtra and India – Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Urban Governance, Public Policy, Rights Issue, etc.
- Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
- General issues on Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization.
- General Science
Paper-II (200 marks)
- Comprehension
- Interpersonal skills including communication skills
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability
- Decision-making and problem-solving
- General mental ability
- Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data Interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc. – Class X level)
- Marathi and English language comprehension skills (Class X/XII level) Questions relating to this will be tested through passages from Marathi and English language without providing cross translation thereof in the question paper.

MPSC state service mains syllabus:
Note: The same negative marking scheme is followed in mains exam also. i.e. there will be deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
Covering the syllabus topic is more important than covering many books. This is the key of success by most of the toppers.
Paper 1 is a language paper in which there are 2 sections (Marathi and English) for which you have to write answers by your own.
Basically there are following topics
1)Essay writing.
2)Translation.
3)precise writing.
Paper 2 is also a language paper in which there are two sections Marathi and English for which you have to select the appropriate option for the answer.
Basically, you have to cover the grammar of Marathi and English because the questions are based on grammar of the respective subject.
