Tips and strategy by Amit Pitambare

Considering the possible change in the State Services Examination (Descriptive
Examination) from 2025 onwards, the challenge of clearing the Combined Group and Senior
Examinations is going to be tougher. So if you think that you will pass just by watching
motivational videos of topper students, it is like daydreaming. My journey to the
Combined exam till now has been like a snake-ladder. However, how did I get out after learning
from all these mistakes and this effort to make this experience useful for other students!

  1. Where (other than Pune) :
I lived in Pune for more than 3.5 years. While there, I followed the
Rigid Timetable (7 to 11 Library) but I did not get the privilege of appearing
in the final list except for the pleasure of giving the Combined Main and State Service Main.
    From 2022 I studied at home (Nagpur)…No Library & doing job. That’s
why the atmosphere in Pune itself.. we should leave the idea that we cannot pass by staying
    at home.
  2. Which (State Services or Combined):
To be clear, the requirements of both the exams are different because the
Syllabus of both is different (if you don’t believe it, check the Syllabus!) So,
instead of asking any topper, friend or friend, you should know your intellectual, financial, mental, physical
needs and strength and decide whether to join the state service. . If there
is a gap of 2 to 3 months in the exam, you should consider stepping on both the
    stones.
  3. When:If you start studying when the advertisement comes, you will not get revision, not performingwell in the test series, under pressure in the exam hall, all this happens. If this is not going tohappen, then you should start studying without thinking about the things that are not in your hands like how big the ad will be, whether the space will increase, when the ad will come.

Remember: Combined Pre & Mains is Sprint. (1 hour game)However, Combined Thi Preparation is Marathon.

  1. How (Excellence over Perfection)
    (Part-1)

◆ Take a look at the Syllabus once, it is not necessary to remember all the things.
  • No matter how perfect the preparation for prelims and mains is, the
ultimate truth is that one cannot appear in mains without clearing the prelims.
So one should not turn to studying for the main exam unless the
previous study is within reach (a ‘real’ belief of passing the cut off).
  • PYQ: Do PYQ properly.. There is no option but PYQ to pass..
PYQ is your best guide.. You may have read this sentence many times
alone but why is PYQ so important?
The scope of Syllabus is known
Reading, Comprehension and Ratta part can be separated

  • Less is More
