How to start MPSC preparation

Hello everyone, If anyone wishes to start MPSC preparation
then 1st question arises that how should we start, and from where
should we actually start preparing for MPSC exams? I am going to answer this
question in this post.


If you are a new candidate in this field then let me take
you through some basic details of the MPSC exam.

The full form of MPSC is Maharashtra Public Service
Commission. It is a commission of the government of Maharashtra establish to conduct
various exams for Class 1,2 and 3 posts.

The List of MPSC exams is given below:

  • State Service Exam
  • Maharashtra Subordinate Services Combined Exam
  • Maharashtra Services Combined Group-C Exam
  • Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Exam
  • Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector Exam

In this post, I will be talking about MPSC state service
exam preparation only, So let’s get started;





How to start MPSC exam preparation

1.     
Decide when to start: There
is no specific time of starting the preparation means you can start preparation
when you are
  in 10th,12th
or after completing your graduation. That totally depends upon you. But whenever
you are starting you must have an idea that this exam is going to take 2..3 or
more years to get selected. This rule does not apply to everyone because there
are examples that some people have cracked this exam in their very first
attempt.

 

2.     
Know the syllabus and paper pattern: You
have to see the syllabus first and then read it every day (
Syllabus of prelims and mains). You will get a syllabus pdf on our website. After you have seen the
syllabus you will get a basic idea of which subjects are there in this exam? How
many marks do they have and much important information?

 

3.     
Start from the state board booksNow
focus on the syllabus of mains and Start reading state board books of History
, Geography and science subjects. Initially, you will not understand that which
state board have to read, So you just read all state board of mentioned subject
from
5th to 10th.That will be sufficient.

 

4.     
Standard Resources: After
reading and revising the state board for at least 2-3 months, Then
 Buy the standard reference sources for the mains
exam. If you don’t know what to read then you can simply check the booklist by
toppers.

Revision is the key: While
reading the books follow timetable such as below
First
you must start to read even if you are not understanding anything Because The first reading is no reading. You will start understanding the concepts after
you will read them twice or thrice or in some cases more.T

start revising the same books again and again.
Revision
is the key to get success.
Keep
your sources limited. That will keep you motivated that you don’t have to read
many things.

 

6.     
Go through question papers: Keep
syllabus and previous year question papers with you during the entire
preparation. Don’t only keep it but read and study them throughout the
preparation. That will get you an idea of how questions are asked in the exam and on
which topic.

 

7.     
Make daily plans of study: If
you want to know-how should be your study plan then you can watch this video or
do in your own way.

 

8.     
You are good to go: Start
completing each topic of the syllabus.
