How to become ASO (Assistant Section Officer)?

ASO is a post that is recruited by MPSC(Maharashtra Public
Service Commission).MPSC conducts subordinate group B exam for the selection
of ASO as well as PSI and STI. This exam is better known as the MPSC  combine group B exam.

There are two stages of exam to become ASO

a.      
Prelims examination

b.     
Mains examination

You have to compete for lakhs of aspirants and achieve a good
rank to get qualified for the selection of ASO.

 

Is ASO gazetted or non gazetted?

ASO is a post that comes under group B post or can also be called a Class 2 post. It’s a non gazetted post.

 

Selection procedure for ASO

Even If MPSC recruits an Assistant section officer but they are
selected by the state government. MPSC conducts group B subordinate examinations to fill the vacancies of ASOs.

 

What is the syllabus 
for the post of ASO?

MPSC subordinate group B prelims is having 100 questions of
100 marks. This preliminary exam is combined for the three posts namely PSI STI
and ASO.

MPSC group B  mains the examination has 2 papers i.e. paper 1 of languages (which is the same for all the
three posts) and paper 2 of subject knowledge.

How much salary of an ASO gets?

The salary bands of PSI STI and ASO are the same. These posts
get a salary between 45000-55000. Each year there is a fixed percentage of
growth in their salary. The growth is almost 2000 with all the expenses
included. They get a good amount of salary.

The ASO is posted in two places

1 Mantralaya, Mumbai

2 MPSC office, Mumbai

The job place of an ASO is fixed he doesn’t get posting
anywhere except Mumbai.
